After three years of collaboration and community building, AI4Life ended in August 2025. This final newsletter celebrates what we have achieved together — from advancing open science in bioimage analysis to enabling AI-powered research through open tools, datasets, and training.

We look back on some of the most impactful highlights and, more importantly, share a glimpse into what’s next for the AI4Life community.

While the AI4Life project has officially come to an end, its spirit and community live on. Together, we’ve built a foundation that will continue to grow through people, infrastructures, and open resources.

In our latest article, “What’s next for AI4Life”, we share how partners are securing the project’s long-term impact — from sustaining key platforms like the BioImage Model Zoo and BioEngine, to integrating AI4Life results into Euro-BioImaging and future initiatives that will keep AI-powered bioimaging accessible to all.

You can stay connected and get involved in what comes next by joining our open community meetings every Wednesday at 16:00 CE(S)T:

- First week of the month: Community Board — open to current and prospective Community Partners.

- Other weeks: Technical Board — focused on ongoing developments, with task forces forming as needed.
